How about the Small Print?
As with all the switching offers provided by high street banks, there is always some small print. We have laid out the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank criteria to qualify for their pay-out below:
- Use the Current Account Switch Service within 31 days
- Start or switch at least 2 direct debits
- Transfer £1,000 into the account with the first 31 days, and another £1,000 in the following 31 days.
- Activate and use the online or mobile banking within the first 2 month.
- You won’t qualify for the £250 bonus if you are already a customer with either Clydesdale or Yorkshire bank.
- Assuming you meet all the criteria, you receive the £250 within 70 days of completing the account switch.
But Be Careful!
As mentioned before, you don’t have to have a Signature account to be eligible for this welcome bonus. If you get told you need to have a packaged bank account, which includes things like Travel Insurance, Breakdown Cover and Mobile Insurance, you can say No. Banks have been mis-selling millions of these fancy named accounts to customers for many years using methods just like this; enticing customers with big welcome bonuses, or telling them they need one of these accounts to qualify for the bonus, an overdraft, loan, etc. This simply isn’t true, so don’t fall for it!
